Hampton Bays Beautification Association

The Hampton Bays Beautification Association is a volunteer organization comprised of over 800 members and sponsors. This group started in 1985 and has progressed into a major player in revitalizing the appearance and spirit of our Hamlet. Many beautification projects have been initiated and completed and these go on throughout the entire year.

With Maud Kramer as President, the group has moved into a very important area....one of planning the direction of our Hamlet growth. The Town of Southampton asked HBBA to become involved with the Hamlet Strategy Study and we have taken that as a lead to widen our involvement in the Town's proceedings as it pertains to our Hamlet, and also the Town at large. A very positive and fruitful relationship has evolved and we are quite proud of our accomplishments.

Our annual Concert-Under-the Stars held at the Ponquogue Beach Pavilion has been a resounding success, as well as our annual Garden Tour, Garden Party, and Holiday luncheon held in December. The brick planters on Main Street. the bricking there, planting 60 trees and placing many benches thruout our Hamlet, the major gateway enhancement at Rt. 24., seasonal decorations, and antique street lights are just a few of the projects we have undertaken.

We welcome everyone to come to our meetings which are held the first Monday of each month at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Montauk Highway. Very shortly another one of our projects will start. This is the Rt. 24 median project and this will make a wonderful addition to our most used gateway. This project is a culmination of efforts with both the Town and the County and we are very pleased that the Town named our group as the sponsoring agency in the County Revitalization Grant program. The HBBA was awarded over $46,000 to complete a major part of this undertaking from the County and the Town has also made available a significant sum.
